The delay, since our last announcement, reflects the lengthy deliberations we have been having about the future of Radio Ryedale, culminating today in our decision to ‘call it a day’.
The company’s success, in terms of its ever increasing audience, has imposed operational demands on our few volunteers that they are now unable to satisfactorily meet. We have tried hard to recruit more volunteers and explored the possibility of some other 'not-for-profit' organisation, with similar community objectives, operating the service. All without success.
With the various technological advances now enabling groups and individuals to create their own websites, we feel Radio Ryedale’s service has, after five exciting years ‘run its course’.
The site will, along with all the 420 stories we have broadcast, remain for your viewing and listening for the foreseeable future.
Many thanks to the sponsors, volunteers, interviewees, performers, writers and all others who have given us their time, talents and enthusiastic interest. And thanks to you, our audience, for your loyal support.
