If, like me, you moan and groan, too often, about the attitudes of young people towards community life, it's time to take a look inside one of our Ryedale schools.
Last Friday I went to Lady Lumley's in Pickering and came away with two good stories confirming, amongst other things, that I've been wrong and out of touch.
For this, the first story, I heard how and why students had produced the impressive first edition of their school's newspaper -
The Communicator.
In the second, they recorded news, views and questions, directed, in excellent French, to their French 'pen pals' at the Lycée Fénelon, in Lille, France. This story go out next.
