We congratulate Jane, the four runners-up and all who submitted short stories. There were many fine entries. We thank the judges, Camilla, Carol, Chen, Enid and Greg, for undertaking a most difficult job.
A special thanks to the two actors, Cal Stockridge and David Goodwin, for the added pleasure their readings brought to the occasion.
The judges had difficulty deciding the five finalists, and then the Winner. They have asked us to ascertain which of the five finalists you, the listener, would have chosen had you been judging. In response, we will be running a straw-poll on this some time next week. Your co-operation will be much appreciated.
It has all been a great success for writers and listeners, so we plan to have a second short story competition in November/December. If anyone, particularly writers, have suggestions on how we might organise this next one, please put them in the Readers Comments facility on this page.
We are also planning two more arts-related series. One for local poets, another for digital photographers. Keep watching and listening. And thank you for your ever growing support.
If you have any suggestions on how we might use our unique facilities to further the interest and involvement of local people in the arts, please let us have them.
