An evacuee re-visits - sixty five years after
Ron Normanton, was one of 45 war-time evacuees that came to rural Hovingham from industrial West Hartlepool on 10 July, 1940. He returned to Hovingham this week to re-live some his fond memories, finding it an emotional experience.

The Butler at Hovingham Hall - The final extract from Ronnie Marshal's memoirs
Brought up as a boy in Hovingham and returning after overseas war-time service in the RAF, Ronnie married Anne and was offered the position of butler by Sir William Worsley which he filled for over 50 years.
